Sitting Causes Cancer

I recently heard on the news that sitting causes increased risk of colon and breast cancer. Here is what I extrapolated from that information.

BOBBYMONO.COM

I have finally entered the modern age and started a webcomic home for Bobby Mono's Crappy Comics.

Think BOBBY MONO then add a .COM on the end of it and, there you are ...looking at everything I've
done for the last 10 years.

There's a few up now, but I will also be having all of my techno/drum and bass discography from the late 90's
early 2000's for free download as well if you're in to that sort of thing.

Thanks again to everybody for all the support and I hope you can stop by and check it out.

Short Run Comic Expo

This weekend was the first ever Short Run expo in Seattle, which I had the pleasure of having a table at. It was an amazing crowd...everybody there for alternative comics and not a single dude dressed as Batman in sight. I was sold once I saw the hilarious comic on the back of the flyer by Seattle's own Kelly Froh.

All in all it was a totally amazing experience for me. My first convention, the Jet City Comic Show, ended in total disaster when I sold 3 or 4 comics, couldn't even give away any low budget comics for free, and got laughed at by a guy dressed as Batman. This show was different. There where crowds of enthusiastic alternative comic readers all day till the very last minute.

I went unprepared with only 15-20 copies of each of my four comics, a couple home-made wizard beards and stickers and TOTALLY SOLD OUT of everything I had. I would have thought at the point that all I had left was one lowly comic and a tumbleweed, it would make me a pariah but I sold every god damn one!

Here's a couple sweet trades I picked up at the show

To any of you that came to the show thank you so so much for visiting. I had such a great day.

The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

For those of you awesome dudes in Seattle, I'll be at the SHORT RUN EXPO, at the Vera Project in Queen Anne. 11:30-4:30. Sellin my comic-y wares.

This is a comic I've been obsessively drawing and re-drawing and re-drawing for about 4 months. I feel like I've finally made a breakthrough though.

It's based on one of the more ridiculous Dungeons and Dragons monsters of all time...."The Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" which is, to quote headinjurytheater.com

"The rabbit is not just sitting there. The rabbit is part of the monster. So you're looking at an evil tree stump that has a cute bunny on the end of its tentacles so that it can lure people or other animals near it. "

anyway here it is in all its stupid splendor.

P.S. if you are interested in the thing's Dmg, Thaco, and Hit Dice....refer to your dumb ass Monster Manual.

The Wizard 2 Preview : The Quest

I'm sort of a lazy bastard when it comes to posting stuff for the internet lately, but I just wanted to prove that I am indeed working on something. The Quest, whichwill be a pretty sizable chunk of the sequel to last year's "The Wizard", is gonna be a long gag. About 25-30 pages, inspired by insipid quests given in MMORPG's.

Anyway here's a 2 page preview.

Coming next,

Pigeons with tits.

Valentine's Day

Tommorrow is Valentine's Day and I got some new stuff.

My wife and I don't really celebrate Valentines. As it's sort of a made up buy candy and flowers day...but we do typically make each other a card. The one for me is usually a really funny zombie related thing about her eating my heart, or baking it in a cake or whatever.

This year I did an illustration for one of her recent favorite songs "Foxes Mate For Life" by the Born Ruffians and song lyrics from their song "This Sentence Will Ruin/Save your life"

I've was an on again off again random visitor to a local drink and draw group here in Seattle last year called the Bureau of Drawers. This cool bunch of people managed to hook up an art show at the Fantagraphics Book Store in Seattle. The Show is called "Love Sick" and is going from Saturday the 12th to March 9th.

After that big setup...I missed the deadline and didn't finish what I was working on till now so....here's what would have been hanging on the wall if I weren't such a lazy ass.

New stuff

It's a new year. I've already been really slacking off on comics....becoming more and more a curmudgeonly hermit. I recently had one of my comics published in a national anthology "Candy or Medicine #12". They used my comic Babies in Distress as the back cover. They're only 1$, so you should definately pick one up. Also, I'm still selling my 2nd book "The Wizard" on both Etsy and Big Cartel.com

This is a 4 part comic I've been working on for a few weeks...hopefully to be in
a future issue of Candy or Medicine. I was trying to come up with the most elaborate fart joke I could think of....here's the result.
